Cudham Training Details

MSS Central Training – Cudham

Tier 1 Training Event for Men At Arms, Archers, Arbalests and Sappers

All members should endeavour to attend Central Training as not all techniques and manoeuvres can be taught or practised at Regional sessions due to constraints of numbers or location

The Shaws (Guide Camp), Cudham.  TN14 7QT

Free training and camping

Men At Arms training sessions will take place on Saturday 25th January 2014

Archers and Arbalests sessions and Sapper training will take place on Sunday 26th January 2014

Men At Arms – Saturday 25th

10am – 11am       Individual sword/hand weapon and spear technique and practice.

11am – 12pm       Group melee training and practice.  Training for block leaders on MAA movements.

12pm – 1pm         Lunch

1pm – 2pm           Advanced Training: Show fighting.

1pm – 2pm           Novice Training: Individual techniques, with more specifics and poleaxe primers.

2pm – close         Group melee.  With a trial script.  Fighting for extended periods of time – 10 minute engagements.

 

Archers and Arbalests – Sunday 26th

Blunts and Sharp Clout Shooting – hit your mark at various distances.

Bring a helmet – exchanges of volleys will be included (blunts).

Competence testing will be available.

 

Sappers – Sunday 26th

Training and extended practice sessions available for the trebuchet.

All sappers (and prospective sappers) should take this opportunity to maintain their familiarity with the engine and its use.

Arrive early to help build the trebuchet.
